FC Midtjylland have completed the signing of 29-year-old centre-back Magnus Jensen from Sønderjyske, the Danish Superliga club announced on Saturday morning. Jensen has signed a three-year contract running through the summer of 2029 and will wear the number 3 shirt.
The total transfer fee could reach 13.5 million kroner (approximately $2 million) if performance-related bonuses are met. Midtjylland had earlier seen a bid of roughly 6 million kroner rejected before the two clubs reached agreement on August 7. Sønderjyske described the deal as one of the largest in the club's history.
The move ends a tense transfer saga. Sønderjyske sporting director Casper Daather had sent Jensen home from training on August 5, granting the defender four days away from the club as negotiations intensified. Jensen departs after 33 appearances for Sønderjyske.
