David Crowley secured the Democratic nomination for Wisconsin governor, edging out Francesca Hong by just 0.4 percentage points — roughly 4,000 votes out of more than 750,000 cast. The victory caps a turbulent campaign in which Crowley briefly withdrew in early July before re-entering the race. He will now face Republican Tom Tiffany in November for the seat being vacated by two-term Governor Tony Evers.
Elsewhere, Peggy Flanagan won the Minnesota Senate Democratic primary with 59% of the vote over Angie Craig, while Luke Bronin unseated 14-term Congressman John Larson in Connecticut and Abdul El-Sayed narrowly claimed the Michigan Senate Democratic primary.
In South Carolina, a special Republican Senate primary triggered by Lindsey Graham's death on July 11 heads to a runoff on August 26 after Darline Graham, backed by Donald Trump, fell short of 50%.
