Danish police arrested an 18-year-old man in Grenaa early Tuesday after a plainclothes officer found him carrying an axe tucked into his waistband in the town centre. The teenager also had pepper spray in his pocket during the overnight encounter.
A subsequent search of the man's address uncovered an additional canister of pepper spray, a knuckle duster, and a stun gun stored in a box, authorities said.
The suspect was charged with multiple violations of Denmark's weapons and knife laws. Police released him after questioning, determining that pre-trial detention was unnecessary and that no preliminary hearing would be sought.
