Chelsea have completed the signing of England midfielder Jordan Henderson on a two-year contract after his departure from Brentford by mutual consent. The 36-year-old arrives on a free transfer and becomes manager Xabi Alonso's second English recruit of the summer window, following the club-record acquisition of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
Henderson, who made 34 appearances for Brentford last season, brings extensive honours including a Premier League title and Champions League triumph during his 12-year spell at Liverpool. He recently became the first Englishman to feature in four World Cups before suffering a broken arm in a post-match accident.
In a separate move, Chelsea agreed to sell defender Trevoh Chalobah to Como for an initial £25.7 million with £5.1 million in potential add-ons. The club finished 10th in the Premier League last season and open their 2026-27 campaign against Fulham on 25 August.
