At least 12 people were injured Thursday morning when a passenger catamaran struck a harbor wall in Konstanz on Lake Constance. The collision occurred at approximately 08:45 local time as the vessel was arriving in port, though the cause of the accident remains unclear.

Emergency responders including the DLRG water rescue service, fire brigade, police, and a rescue helicopter were deployed to the scene. All injured passengers were treated on site, and many were subsequently taken to hospital.

The vessel remained stable in the water with no fuel or operating fluids leaking, according to police. Shipping traffic in Konstanz harbor was not disrupted. The catamaran service operates hourly between Konstanz and Friedrichshafen across Lake Constance.
