A tourist excursion boat carrying 115 people, including children and crew members, caught fire and burned almost completely off the coast of the Turkish resort town of Fethiye.

All aboard jumped into the sea wearing life jackets before the vessel became inoperable. The coast guard rescued everyone from the water and brought them ashore. Two people who had been exposed to smoke were taken to hospital for treatment.

The cause of the blaze remained unclear and an investigation has been launched. The fire occurred in waters popular with holidaymakers along Turkey's southwestern Aegean coast.
