A Western Australia jury on Friday acquitted British rapper and social media personality Yung Filly of three counts of sexual penetration without consent, along with charges of strangulation and assault occasioning bodily harm, after an eight-day trial in Perth. The jury could not reach verdicts on three further sexual penetration counts, leaving open the possibility of a retrial.
Barrientos, 30, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was found guilty of two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm relating to biting the complainant's neck and breast during a September 2024 hotel encounter. The convictions follow his testimony last week, in which he admitted to the biting but denied the core allegations.
The Colombia-born entertainer, known for his work with YouTube collective Beta Squad, remains on bail until 21 August, when a sentencing date for the assault convictions will be set. The trial has halted his career.
