U.S. singer Chris Brown and his associate Omololu Akinlolu have pleaded guilty to affray at Southwark Crown Court in London, admitting to unlawful violence stemming from a nightclub confrontation more than two years ago.
The charges relate to an incident on 19 February 2023 at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair, where Brown struck music producer Abraham Diaw twice over the head with a glass bottle and Akinlolu punched the victim, who was also kicked while sitting on the floor. In exchange for the guilty pleas, prosecutors dropped more serious charges including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, and possessing an offensive weapon.
Brown, who was arrested in Manchester in May 2025 and released on bail, is scheduled to be sentenced on 26 October 2025. Akinlolu, identified as Brown's vocal coach, will be sentenced on the same date.
