Belgian woman charged in foiled terror plot against Bank of America in Paris

A 24-year-old Belgian woman has been charged and jailed in Paris over a foiled bomb plot targeting the Bank of America headquarters in the French capital. The suspect, a Liège resident, was handed over Thursday under a European arrest warrant and faces charges of terrorist conspiracy and possession of explosives linked to a criminal enterprise.

She is accused of recruiting three teenagers and offering them up to 1,000 euros to plant a homemade explosive device outside the building and film the blast. Two attempts in late March failed — the first blocked by a parked vehicle, the second interrupted by police. Prosecutors said the device could have produced a large fireball and spread a blaze.

Five people, including two minors, are now in custody in the case. The plot may be linked to Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya, a group that claimed several attacks on Jewish communities across Europe in March, though prosecutors said that connection has not been formally established.
