A 22-year-old British neo-Nazi has been sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison, plus an extended licence period of five years, for preparing terrorist acts including plans to attack a mosque and compile a list of potential targets that included the Lord Mayor of London.

Alfie Coleman was convicted at an Old Bailey retrial after an MI5 undercover operation ensnared him in a weapons sting. Undercover officers engaged Coleman as he sought to purchase a Skorpion submachine gun, AK47 and ammunition. The operation culminated on 29 September 2023 when he collected a Makarov pistol, five magazines and 200 rounds of ammunition from a Morrisons supermarket car park in Stratford, east London.

Coleman, who was radicalised online from age 14 and idolised convicted murderers Thomas Mair and Dylann Roof, had written a manifesto detailing attack plans that included hijacking a plane. He also compiled a kill list of Tesco colleagues and customers he deemed race traitors, and had contacted the far-right group Patriotic Alternative in July 2021.
