Argentina advanced to the 2026 World Cup semifinals after defeating Switzerland 3-1 following extra time in a quarterfinal played Saturday in Kansas City.

Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 10th minute, but Dan Ndoye equalized for Switzerland in the 67th minute. The match turned shortly after when Switzerland's Breel Embolo was sent off for a second yellow card in the 72nd minute. Argentina then broke through in extra time: Julián Álvarez restored the lead in the 112th minute, and Lautaro Martinez sealed the victory in stoppage time.

Argentina will face England in the semifinals on Wednesday in Atlanta.
