Wistron opened its D1 AI smart manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 21, becoming the first U.S. plant to mass-produce Nvidia's GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip. The nearly $700 million facility spans roughly 324,000 square feet and operates at approximately 60% automation.
Wistron President Jeff Lin said the company acquired the plant in April 2025 and began mass production in July 2026. Chairman Simon Lin described it as one of the most important facilities for building AI infrastructure in the United States. The site will later produce Nvidia's Vera Rubin Superchip.
The company is planning a second plant, D2, expected to be at least twice the size of D1. Wistron shares rose 9.7% on the day of the opening. Nvidia's partner manufacturing network spans 43 U.S. states, contributing an estimated $485 billion to U.S. GDP this year.
