Williams sisters to reunite in doubles at Cincinnati Open after Wimbledon withdrawal

· Sports USA

Serena and Venus Williams have received a wildcard entry for the women's doubles at the Cincinnati Open, marking their first partnership since the 2022 US Open.

The WTA 1000 event in Ohio runs from 11 to 23 August. The siblings were scheduled to team up at Wimbledon last month, but Serena withdrew with a knee injury sustained during her first-round singles loss to Maya Joint. Venus Williams has also been granted a singles wildcard for Cincinnati.

The sisters have won 14 major doubles titles together, including six Wimbledon championships, and hold three Olympic gold medals in doubles. They will make their Cincinnati Open doubles debut ahead of the US Open, which begins 31 August in New York.
