One person was killed and eight others injured on Saturday when a van carrying Moroccan agricultural workers overturned on a provincial road near Serracapriola in Italy's Foggia province, emergency services said.
The workers were returning to Foggia after a day working in the fields in neighbouring Molise when the vehicle left the road on Provincial Route 45 at Montesecco. One casualty, suffering severe multiple trauma, was intubated and airlifted to Policlinico di Foggia, while the remaining injured were taken to hospital in San Severo.
Ambulances, a rescue helicopter, firefighters, Carabinieri, and local police responded to the scene. The cause of the crash has not been established.
