A U.S. soldier was killed Saturday in northern Iraq during the controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone, the U.S. military announced Sunday. A second service member sustained minor injuries in the blast. The death brings to 17 the number of American troops killed since the war began.
Separately, U.S. Central Command said unidentified human remains were recovered at the site of Friday's Iranian missile and drone attack in Jordan, where two soldiers were killed and a third was left missing. An identification process is underway, and the remains are believed to belong to the missing service member.
Iran has declared a June framework agreement with Washington void, according to Tehran.
