Temperatures across southern and central Finland are falling below 15 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, readings so low for mid-July that they occur on average only once every 30 years. Showers are expected to spread to the southeast coast and southern shoreline in the afternoon, while frost may form overnight across a broad swath of Lapland.
Northern Germany is also experiencing a brief, cooler spell, with temperatures hovering around 20 degrees on Tuesday before clouds and rain move in mid-week. The southwest and south of the country remain dry, reaching highs near 30 degrees along the Upper Rhine, with no significant rainfall expected before the weekend.
A rebound is forecast later in the week: in Germany, temperatures are expected to climb back toward 30 degrees from Friday and could reach up to 35 degrees in the southwest by Saturday, though the warm air may be displaced again by Sunday.
