Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev has accused Ukraine's military intelligence agency (GUR) of orchestrating a bomb attack that left him and two family members seriously injured in Monaco on June 29. The blast from a package left outside a residential building wounded Yermolaiev, his partner, and his son as they were leaving the premises.
Yermolaiev has appealed to authorities in Monaco, France, and Ukraine to protect his family, witnesses, and lawyers connected to the case. Ukrainian investigators reported on July 7 that suspect Anastasiia Berezovska was found dead in Ukraine after initially being sought in connection with the attack. A serving GUR officer, Vladyslav Reut, confessed to killing Berezovska, stating he acted alongside former SBU officer Vitaliy Zhykovych. Detained suspects in the assassination plot were identified as officers of Ukraine's GUR.
