U.S. President Donald Trump has announced on Truth Social that he completed a health examination with excellent results, including a cognitive assessment, though it remains unclear whether he underwent a new check-up or was referring to his May 2026 visit to Walter Reed military hospital. During that May examination, doctors said the 80-year-old leader was in excellent health but advised him to lose weight after he had gained 6.3 kg since April 2025.
Trump used the post to attack New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan over their book released in June 2026. He also stated he has requested another cognitive test, claiming to be the only president to have taken it three times with a perfect score.
Additionally, Trump announced plans to sue The New York Times for billions of dollars in damages. The administration has also subpoenaed several journalists following reporting on security issues with a new Air Force One aircraft offered by Qatar.
