A suspected dangerous object discovered in a villa in Glimåkra, a small locality in Östra Göinge municipality in southern Sweden, triggered a major police response on Tuesday before being deemed harmless by the National Bomb Squad.
Police were alerted to the property on Sermansvägen at 10:22 a.m. local time. Officers cordoned off the area and evacuated the home's residents. Authorities urged people on several nearby streets — including Sermansvägen, Plåtslagaregatan, and Ågagatan — to stay indoors and keep away from windows as a precaution while the situation was assessed.
The National Bomb Squad was dispatched to the scene to examine the object. Following their assessment, the alert was lifted and the item was confirmed to pose no danger. No injuries were reported, and police have not disclosed further details about the nature of the object or the circumstances of its discovery.
