Spain's Guardia Civil and National Police have arrested five members of the Venezuelan criminal group Tren de Aragua, dismantling a cell active across four provinces. Four of the suspects were remanded in custody after arrests on June 17 in Madrid, Ibiza, Tenerife, Ourense and Ciudad Real.
The investigation began after a January 28 armed raid on a plastic surgeon's home in Sariegos, near León, where assailants bound four residents — including two minors — and stole jewellery and cash worth roughly 110,000 euros.
Officers carried out six raids and seized more than 500 grams of pink cocaine, 182 grams of methamphetamine, over 100 pills, 50 handgun cartridges, fake licence plates and more than 5,700 euros. The suspects, all Venezuelan nationals with prior records for drug trafficking, trafficking in persons and violent robbery, face charges including armed robbery, illegal weapons possession, unlawful detention and drug offences.
