Spain advanced to the World Cup final for the first time since 2010 after defeating France 2-0 in their semi-final on Tuesday in Arlington, Texas. Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute, and Pedro Porro added a second in the 58th to seal the victory at AT&T Stadium.
The result denied France a shot at the title despite Kylian Mbappé's eight goals in the tournament. Spain, who had beaten France 2-1 in the Euro 2024 semi-final and entered the match on an unbeaten competitive run stretching more than three years, controlled the contest throughout.
Spain will play for the title on 19 July at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, while France will contest the third-place play-off on Saturday.
