Scottie Scheffler shot a nine-under-par 61 in the second round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis on Friday, equalling the course record at TPC Southwind and opening a three-stroke lead at the halfway stage.
Scheffler, who began his round with five consecutive birdies, moved to 11 under par overall. Im Sung-jae and Viktor Hovland sat tied for second at eight under, while Ludvig Aberg was a further shot back. Tommy Fleetwood led the British contingent at six under alongside Jordan Spieth. Matti Schmid recorded his first PGA Tour hole-in-one at the fourth hole and climbed into a tie for 54th.
