Scottie Scheffler missed the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open, finishing at level par and two strokes outside the cut line. It is the first time the world number one has failed to advance on the PGA Tour in 78 consecutive events dating to August 2022. Patrick Cantlay, Ludvig Åberg, Brooks Koepka, Thorbjørn Olesen and Niklas Nørgaard also departed early.
Rory McIlroy, Jordan Smith and Tom Kim share the lead at nine under par after the second round. Rasmus Højgaard, who co-led after Thursday, shot a three-over 73 to slide to a tie for 49th, while Bernd Wiesberger carded a 78 and tumbled to 118th to miss the cut. Nicolai Højgaard posted a four-under round to sit tied for 13th, and Sepp Straka exited at one under.
With Scheffler's streak ended, Matt Fitzpatrick now holds the longest active consecutive made-cut run on the PGA Tour at 28.
