British-manufactured drones have been used to strike military and industrial targets deep inside Russia for the first time, prompting Moscow to warn that London will "pay a price" for its involvement.
The strikes, carried out over the past six months, involved aircraft produced by two British companies, including a subsidiary of BAE Systems. Among the weapons deployed was the Nyan jet-powered drone, with a range exceeding 240 km, which targeted oil refineries, naval bases, and logistics hubs. The campaign has caused more than £35 billion in economic damage, according to reports.
The Russian embassy in London called Britain an "accomplice and co-author" of the attacks. Britain, which has pledged roughly £25 billion in aid to Kyiv since February 2022, has supplied Ukraine with tens of thousands of drones this year.
