Nvidia announced Monday it is teaming up with six major financial institutions to launch compute capacity financing platforms aiming to raise more than $500 billion in third-party capital for artificial intelligence infrastructure. The coalition includes Apollo Global Management, Blackstone, BlackRock, Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs and KKR, with funding structured through various investment vehicles that could grow over time.

The chipmaker has also held discussions with OpenAI about providing roughly $250 billion in financial backing for a data center project, and has reportedly discussed supporting a large Ohio data center leased to OpenAI. In a related move, Meta partnered with BlackRock to finance a new data center in Texas.

Nvidia reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue of $81.6 billion, up 85 percent year over year, with gross margins near 75 percent. Despite the strong earnings, shares fell more than 3 percent Monday, with the stock down 2.4 percent in recent trading. The company's next quarterly results are scheduled for Aug. 26.
