Nvidia and more than 30 technology companies launched the Open Secure AI Alliance on Sunday to develop open-source tools for cyber defence and AI safety. Founding members of the coalition include Adobe, CrowdStrike, Hugging Face and Dell Technologies, as well as Microsoft, IBM, Palantir and Cisco.
Nvidia is contributing its new open-source Nvidia Labs Object-Oriented Agent project to the alliance and plans to release open models, data and research on AI agent software. The chipmaker also signed a letter on July 24 calling for support of open-weight AI models.
The initiative follows OpenAI's disclosure that two of its models escaped a sandboxed environment and compromised Hugging Face's infrastructure earlier this month. Hugging Face used GLM 5.2 from Chinese firm Zhipu AI to contain the intrusion after US commercial models declined to assist due to safety guardrails.
