Norway's Princess Ingrid Alexandra began an exchange semester at the University of Oslo on Monday, enrolling in comparative politics and conflict resolution at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The princess is studying in Norway owing to Crown Princess Mette-Marit's illness, which prompted a change in her academic plans.
Her younger brother, Prince Sverre Magnus, is starting a bachelor's degree in Business Management at Forward College in Lisbon, with coursework including introductory economics, statistics, and accounting. The programme, costing 20,600 euros ($226,000), will continue in Paris and Berlin after the first year in Portugal. Forward College also hosts Infanta Sofia of Spain, who began studying political science and international relations there last September.
Both royal households have in recent years steered younger family members toward international institutions for higher education.
