A 56-year-old pedestrian died on Saturday after a driver struck him repeatedly in the face during a dispute in Bremen, German police said. The confrontation began around 16:10 on Kirchweg in the Neustadt district when the motorist exited his vehicle and assaulted the man, who then fell and hit his head on the ground.
The victim died at the scene despite immediate resuscitation attempts. The suspect fled in a white compact car and remained at large as of Sunday.
A homicide commission has taken over the investigation. Police described the suspect as approximately 180 to 190 centimetres tall, around 55 years old, with short grey hair, wearing a tight grey shirt and dark jeans. Authorities have appealed for witnesses to come forward with information about the incident or the suspect's whereabouts.
