A man was barred from boarding a flight to Istanbul after telling security staff at Václav Havel Airport Prague that he was a terrorist, triggering a security sweep at Terminal 1 on Monday, 27 July 2026.
The man, travelling with two minor children, made the remark during a security screening in which staff found a power bank that exceeded permitted limits. Police and bomb-disposal officers then searched the man and his luggage, finding nothing.
The airline removed the man from the flight, and he and his children left the airport under police escort. Josef Urban, a spokesperson for the foreign police, cautioned travellers against using words such as "bomb" or "terrorist" at airports.
