King Harald V will remain at the National Hospital in Oslo for continued treatment and will miss a planned royal tour of Trøndelag next month, the royal court confirmed, after his admission on Monday for fluid retention linked to haemolytic anaemia.
Queen Sonja will undertake the scheduled visits to Rindal, Høylandet and Gjefsjøen mountain farm in early September alone. Crown Prince Haakon continues as regent during the king's sick leave. Queen Sonja visited the hospital shortly before noon on Thursday, while Crown Princess Mette-Marit drove herself to the hospital that afternoon. Mette-Marit underwent a successful lung transplant at the same hospital on 17 June.
The court said a further health update will be issued next week. The royal couple still plan to visit Telemark municipalities in October.
