Ciro Immobile has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 36, closing a career that saw him become one of Serie A's most prolific scorers.
Immobile scored 350 goals across 656 appearances for club and country. His defining spell came at Lazio, where he netted 207 times in 340 matches, winning the 2019 Coppa Italia and two Italian Super Cups. In the 2019/20 season he scored 36 league goals, matching Gonzalo Higuaín's Serie A single-season record, a feat that earned him the European Golden Shoe in 2020. He finished as Serie A's top scorer four times.
On the international stage, Immobile was part of the Italy squad that won the European Championship in 2021. He also collected Super Cup titles in Germany and Turkey during earlier stints in his career.
