Israeli military strikes killed at least five Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, including an eight-year-old girl shot dead near the Al-Bureij refugee camp, local health officials said.
A drone strike hit a metal workshop in southern Gaza City, killing four people, while additional drone attacks in the Sabra neighbourhood caused further casualties. Earlier in the week, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 25 Palestinians in a single day, with the military saying it targeted Hamas fighters who had opened fire on troops.
More than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed since the October ceasefire took effect, compared with five Israeli soldiers and one civilian contractor lost over the same period. The total death toll in the nearly three-year offensive now exceeds 73,200, including an estimated 21,300 children, according to United Nations figures.
