More than 30 civilians have been killed and over 260 wounded in US strikes across southern Iran in recent days, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said Tuesday, as the escalation entered a fourth consecutive night of bombardment.
The US military said it carried out a seven-hour wave of strikes targeting dozens of military sites near the Strait of Hormuz and coastal areas. Iran's army reported seven soldiers killed when 13 missiles hit a base in Bampur, Sistan-Baluchestan province. Iran retaliated with overnight strikes on US weapons depots in Kuwait and Bahrain, after earlier hitting targets in Jordan.
President Donald Trump threatened to target bridges and power plants next week if Iran does not return to negotiations, widening the US naval blockade already in effect.
