A post-mortem examination has determined that an unidentified man died from cardiac arrest followed by hypoxia and hypothermia after stowing away in the landing gear of an Air Arabia flight that arrived at Gatwick Airport from Tangier, Morocco, on 16 June.
Coroner Joseph Turner opened the inquest at Horsham Coroner's Court on Tuesday and adjourned proceedings until 24 February 2027 pending further investigation.
The man was discovered inside the aircraft's wheel compartment upon the plane's arrival from North Africa. Authorities have not publicly identified the individual or determined how he gained access to the landing gear before departure.
