Germany claimed the dressage team title at the equestrian world championships in Aachen on Tuesday, with Isabell Werth securing her tenth world championship gold in front of a home crowd of roughly 18,000. Great Britain finished second and Denmark third in the competition, which serves as a qualifier for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Denmark is defending its world title amid ongoing scrutiny of the sport's animal welfare standards following controversies at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Danish Equestrian Federation has since introduced new ethical guidelines and sanctions, though animal welfare groups say further reform is needed.

In the dressage team event, Finland sat 13th after the opening day with riders Anu Sironen and Ville Vaurio competing. The six-sport championships continue through the month, featuring eventing, show jumping, para-dressage, vaulting and driving at the venue that holds up to 40,000 spectators.
