European defense startup Helsing has raised $1.8 billion in a Series E funding round, valuing the Munich-based drone and software maker at $18 billion, the company announced Sunday.
The round drew a range of global investors, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and CPP Investments, as well as Lightspeed Venture Partners, Iconiq, Dragoneer, and General Catalyst. Helsing said the capital will accelerate development of AI platforms for defense. The company remains predominantly European-owned despite the influx of international capital.
Helsing supplies its HX-2 kamikaze drones to the Ukrainian armed forces and has produced underwater surveillance drones since 2025. The firm is also developing an unmanned combat jet in partnership with Grob Aircraft.
