Germany is financing the purchase of 50,000 attack drones for Ukraine in a contract valued at around 90 million euros, stepping up military support as Kyiv intensifies its drone campaign against Russian targets.
The order covers Shrike first-person-view drones built by Ukrainian manufacturer SkyFall, equipped with U.S.-made Auterion software that enables autonomous tracking and striking of moving targets in the final phase of flight. Some units have already been delivered, with the remainder scheduled for shipment later in 2026.
Auterion is helping supply a combined 100,000 drones, including 33,000 under a $50 million Pentagon contract. Britain has separately announced 150,000 drones under a 752-million-pound aid package, while Sweden confirmed the German-backed order at roughly 974 million kronor.
