Kai Fotheringham scored his first top-flight goal in the 80th minute to give St Johnstone a 4-3 victory over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership season opener at McDiarmid Park on Sunday.
The seven-goal thriller saw St Johnstone take an early lead through Fowler before Kiltie equalised for Kilmarnock. Diabate restored the hosts' advantage early in the second half, but Hugill levelled again. An own goal by Jason Holt and a Michael Schjonning-Larsen own goal kept the match finely balanced before Fotheringham's late strike settled the contest in front of 5,733 spectators.
St Johnstone next travels to face St Mirren on Saturday.
