Remco Evenepoel won the 2026 Clásica San Sebastián for a record-breaking fourth time, surpassing Marino Lejarreta to become the sole most decorated rider in the race's history. The Belgian sprinted past Richard Carapaz at the line, with Ben Tulett finishing third.
Evenepoel overcame a puncture with roughly 50 kilometres remaining, suffering the mechanical after the descent of the Jaizkibel. Teammate Giulio Pellizzari worked to bring him back to the front before the decisive Murgil climb, where Evenepoel launched his winning attack.
Only 55 riders completed the 221.2-kilometre route. Bauke Mollema failed to finish in his final appearance.
