Denmark signs deal with Terma for anti-drone command system

· Conflict DNK

Denmark's defence procurement agency has signed an agreement with domestic weapons manufacturer Terma to supply an anti-drone command and control system designed to protect military installations, airports, ports, and energy infrastructure. Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus announced the deal at a weapons fair in Herning, saying the system could be operational later this year.

The system is intended to give the military a complete real-time picture of activity in Danish airspace by aggregating data from available sensors and radar. Bruus declined to disclose the cost. Denmark does not yet possess full sensor coverage or a comprehensive drone shield across the country, and officials acknowledge the next step will be acquiring weapons capable of shooting down drones.

The procurement follows reports last year of foreign drones over Copenhagen Airport and sensitive military sites, though authorities later said they could not confirm the sightings. The incidents prompted alarm across government and defence circles.
