China's industrial profits rose 15.1% in June from a year earlier, with first-half gains reaching 18.7% and totaling 3.95 trillion yuan. The June pace slowed from May's expansion, however, as producer prices dipped 0.3% month-on-month, marking the first monthly decline since July 2025.

State-controlled enterprises posted a 17.9% profit increase to 1.31 trillion yuan in the first half, while private firms grew 13% to 965.6 billion yuan. The electronics sector surged 96.9%, and mining profits jumped 33.5%.

The data arrives as the Politburo holds its traditional late-July meeting, with policymakers weighing the outlook. Robin Xing, chief China economist at Morgan Stanley, is among those tracking the figures closely.
