China recorded a record trade surplus of $125.6 billion in June, driven by a sharp acceleration in outbound shipments that outpaced a simultaneous jump in imports.
Exports climbed 27% year-on-year to $412.39 billion, while imports surged 36% over the same period. Shipments to the United States, a key market amid ongoing trade tensions, rose nearly 14% from a year earlier, leaving a bilateral surplus of $28.9 billion for the month.
The strong June figures capped a robust first half of 2026, with exports rising 17.6% in January through June compared with the same period last year.
