Cape Verde's Vozinha has been named in the 2026 World Cup dream team, securing 39.6 percent of the fan vote for goalkeepers to edge out tournament Golden Glove winner Unai Simón following his nation's historic debut campaign.

The expanded 48-team tournament, held across the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19, saw Cape Verde earn a goalless draw against Spain in the group stage before falling 3-2 to Argentina in the round of 32 after extra time. Spain went on to claim the title with a 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina in the final, with Rodri named player of the tournament. Lionel Messi received the Silver Ball and Kylian Mbappé took Bronze with a tournament-high 10 goals.

The dream team features three players each from champions Spain and runners-up France, while Erling Haaland scored seven goals in five matches as Norway reached the quarter-finals for the first time. England beat France 6-4 in the third-place playoff.
