Artificial intelligence company Anthropic is preparing for a stock market debut that could arrive as early as October 2026, organizer banks are arranging confidential meetings between investors and company executives in the coming weeks. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan Chase are coordinating the IPO planning.
The company confidentially filed its prospectus with the SEC in June, one week before rival OpenAI submitted its own paperwork. Anthropic is widely expected to pursue a valuation of $1 trillion or more, building on a $65 billion private funding round in May that valued the firm at $965 billion.
The listing push comes as the AI sector faces intensifying competition. Claude, Anthropic's flagship model, held a 10% share of website visits among leading AI platforms in March 2026, while ChatGPT's share fell to 50%. CEO Dario Amodei has called for government regulation of AI, citing risks to cybersecurity and national security.
