Anthropic expands Claude Cowork to mobile and web with offline cloud processing

Anthropic launched mobile and web versions of its Claude Cowork AI agent on Monday, extending the tool beyond desktop as the company seeks a broader footprint in enterprise productivity.

The agent operates entirely in the cloud and does not require a device to stay online, meaning tasks continue running even when users close their laptops or phones. Available in beta to Max-tier subscribers across iOS, Android, and web, the release is accompanied by doubled usage limits running through 5 August 2026.

An internal review of 1.2 million Cowork sessions found that more than 90 percent of activity involves knowledge work, with a third of sessions tied to business operations and 16.4 percent to drafting documents and presentations. Software development accounted for just 8.7 percent of use, underscoring the tool's tilt toward administrative rather than engineering workflows.
