Amazon to raise pay for German logistics workers from September

· Business DEU

Amazon will increase wages for its German logistics workforce starting in September, lifting average entry-level pay to 16.66 euros per hour, up from roughly 16 euros. The company said the rise applies across its 23 logistics centres, nine sorting hubs, and more than 70 delivery stations in Germany. Workers with at least two years of tenure will see their average hourly wage rise 3.1 percent to above 19 euros. At 40 locations, entry pay will reach at least 17 euros an hour.

The U.S. e-commerce giant employs more than 40,000 logistics staff in Germany. Amazon has also planned a new logistics centre in Zweibrücken with about 1,000 jobs by late 2026, plus five additional delivery stations opening this year.

Trade union Verdi, however, continues to demand legally binding collective bargaining agreements aligned with the retail and mail-order sector.
