A wave of alleged Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay footage has surfaced online in recent days, with a leaker or group calling itself CyberLeek posting what appears to be a playable build of the highly anticipated sequel. The leak arrives just over a week before an official extended preview scheduled for next Thursday, and clips have been hit with copyright strikes by the publisher — a move widely seen as lending credibility to the footage.
The leak has triggered a surge in malicious activity: piracy sites are flooded with fake download links promising access to the build but distributing malware instead, while impersonators have used AI to fabricate their own clips. CyberLeek has also published a manifesto listing grievances, and every shared clip has been overlaid with cryptocurrency advertisements.
Rockstar Games has yet to comment publicly on the breach. GTA VI is set to launch digitally on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with pre-orders priced from 2,009 Czech crowns for the standard edition.
