Unfinished gameplay footage and a detailed map of Grand Theft Auto 6 have circulated online since Thursday, just days before a planned Netflix showcase scheduled for August 27. A group calling itself Cyberleek claimed responsibility for the leak, framing it as a protest against digital-only pre-sales and demanding a public apology from developer Rockstar Games.
The leaked videos show protagonist Jason playing basketball, driving, and engaging in combat, with new mechanics including fuel management and a morality indicator. An island map divided into five counties was also shared. Cyberleek warned that "if Rockstar Games could be touched, no one is safe," threatening further leaks. Rockstar and publisher Take-Two Interactive have issued copyright strikes to remove the clips but have not publicly commented.
Industry insiders suggest the footage may come from a build over a year old, with placeholder interface elements visible. GTA 6 is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
