Aarhus Gymnastikforening completed a historic Champions League qualification comeback, overturning a 4-1 first-leg defeat to Lech Poznan by winning a penalty shootout 4-3 in Poland on Thursday.

AGF led 3-0 after 90 minutes with goals from Tobias Bech, Kristian Arnstad and Frederik Tingager, levelling the aggregate at 4-4. Filip Jagiello pulled one back for Lech in extra time before Tomas Oli Kristjansson restored AGF's two-goal cushion, leaving the aggregate at 5-5 and forcing penalties. Bech converted the decisive spot-kick to seal the tie.

The Danish side, backed by more than 2,000 travelling supporters at Enea Stadion, became only the third European team to progress after losing a first-leg home match by three goals. AGF will face Sabah FK of Azerbaijan in the next qualifying round.
