AGF open Champions League qualifying against Lech Poznan with European hopes running through Randers

Aarhus Gymnastikforening begin their Champions League qualifying campaign against Lech Poznan on Tuesday evening, with the second-round tie kicking off at 19:00 at Cepheus Park in Randers because AGF's temporary home ground does not meet UEFA requirements.

Monday's draw revealed that an AGF victory would set up a third-round meeting with either Sabah FK of Azerbaijan or KuPS of Finland, both reigning domestic champions. Should AGF fall to Lech Poznan, they drop into Europa League qualifying against KI Klaksvik or Kauno Zalgiris. Lech Poznan are managed by Niels Frederiksen, who has guided the Polish side to consecutive league titles.

Analysts consider the tie evenly matched, though statistical models give AGF a 99.7% probability of reaching European group-stage football through one pathway or another.
